Jan has been CEO at EMLC since it was established. This follows on from a successful career in schools which included headship and local authority inspection. Jan has grown EMLC from a regional to a national organisation and has led the charity’s delivery of a number of high profile leadership contracts. These include the national delivery of the graduation stage of NPQH for the National College. Jan has ensured that the charity’s work is underpinned by strong relationships with school and other leaders. Jan leads the Executive Team across the EMLC Group.
Chief Financial Officer
Gina is Financial Controller for EMLC and EMLC Academy Trust, having been appointed to the post in 2013. She is a Chartered Certified Accountant and a member of the ACCA. Gina brings experience from both the commercial and Not for Profit sectors; her career to date has included working within the manufacturing and oil and gas industries, as well as for a national charity involved with developing and promoting apprenticeships. As well as managing the finances of the charity, Gina manages and co-ordinates the finances of the Academy Trust and the academies which report in to it. Her team includes the financial staff at Bridge House and those at each of the academies within the Trust. Gina has also managed the financial aspects of the conversion of the academies joining the Trust since her appointment.
Duncan began teaching at a residential special school and then moved to a mainstream secondary school. Following a number of promotions he moved to work with the local authority as an area adviser for TVEI, a national initiative to introduce technology and other developments into schools. Moving to a Training and Enterprise (TEC) he continued working with schools, but also managed work based training for young people. This involved the development and introduction of Modern Apprenticeships. He has also been Director of an Education Action Zone and Excellence Cluster. In recent years he was the Strategic Planning Manager for Northamptonshire County Council, overseeing school admissions and the delivery of new schools and extensions.
Duncan has had a lifelong interest in sport, particularly in coaching and managing football teams for all ages. He still plays football with former pupils and their sons. He also has a season ticket for Northampton Saints.
Senior Project Manager
Hena leads a project team who manage and coordinate all the activities of the Trust, including the conversion for new academy projects. As part of her work she coordinates the Directors of the EMLC Academy Trust Strategic Board, the Executive Team and has played an integral part in the growth of the Trust. Hena is an experienced project manager and is an accredited PRINCE2 practitioner.
