EMLC Academy Trust sponsored its first two primaries in 2012, Orchard and Shepherdswell in Milton Keynes. The most recent addition of The Northampton International Academy in 2016 means that the Trust now has seven academies, with aspirations to grow the community further.
The Trustees’ vision to further enhance EMLC Academy Trust’s distinct school improvement model requires a dedicated CEO for the Trust to build capacity and continue the journey to date. An extensive recruitment process began last autumn but was unable to identify a suitable candidate. As a result, Joshua Coleman has been appointed as interim CEO until a permanent appointment has been made. His appointment will create stability in the short-term and enable the search for a permanent CEO to continue. Along with the appointment of Paul Wheeler as Chief Financial Officer, the central team will focus on the continued journey of EMLC Academy Trust’s visions and values.
Joshua joins EMLC Academy Trust as an experienced CEO having worked in a wide spectrum of education and charitable organisations, most recently in another multi academy trust. He has overseen transformations of inadequate education provisions and has a strong focus on the needs of the individual. His strong moral purpose for every young person to achieve the best they can matches that of the Trust.
“It is a privilege to join EMLC Academy Trust at such an important time and I am excited to continue the successes that have already been achieved”.
