Parents and Carers

25th September 2015

Dear Parents,

You may be aware Darren Smith, the Principal of Stimpson Avenue Academy, will be leaving the academy on December 31st 2015 to become the Headteacher of Headlands Primary.

EMLC Academy Trust have been working to put in place a leadership solution to ensure the academy continues with its improving performance over the rest of this academic year. Since September 2014 the Trust has worked successfully with the current leadership to increase both the achievements and the progress of the pupils and it’s important that this momentum continues and every child in the school continues to improve.

Since July 2015 Sarah Bennett, a National Leader of Education and the Principal of Two Mile Ash an outstanding school in Milton Keynes, has been working with Darren supporting the continued improvement of the school. Sarah has worked successfully over a number of years with other Trust academies to drive their rapid and continued improvement.

From October half term Sarah will have a more formal role as the Executive Principal of Stimpson Avenue Academy supported by Kim Kemp who will become the Head of School. Kim has worked with Stimpson Avenue Academy in a variety of roles over the last year supporting their development.

Kim Kemp is currently an Assistant Principal and an outstanding teacher at Two Mile Ash and is looking forward to her role as Head of School and will work closely with Darren in this transitional period. In addition to Sarah and Kim, Stimpson Avenue Academy will receive excellent support from an extended Two Mile Ash team including specialist subject expertise specifically in Maths and English.

Both Sarah and Kim are looking forward to meeting with you over the coming weeks.

Best wishes,

Jan Marshall                         Jane Thomas
